When this movie came out, everyone said that it was Marvel's best movie yet. I am not sure that I agree with this. It was an amazing movie, but I didn't feel like it was a Marvel movie because it was so different. Instead of being about superheroes, Guardians of the Galaxy focuses on your stereotypical group of criminals with a heart of gold who band together to become heroes despite what everyone else thinks they are capable of. This is a very different genre and feel from the other Marvel stories; it's more like a sci-fi action/adventure sort of thing...plus it's in space. Had I read Marvel Comics growing up, this movie may not have felt so disconnected from the rest. Especially since Thanos does actually have a big role coming up in Avengers: Infinity Wars .
