Blended

I  promise that I will try to do one post a day this week since I am so behind.
In August (yes, that far behind) I watched Blended with Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler. I must admit I like their movies, especially 50 First Dates. Every 10 years they make another movie together, and the third of these movies was Blended.
I must admit that I was quite hesitant having seen the trailers which contained very stupid humor, besides I was afraid that the modern advertising technique of putting all the funny scenes in the commercials had been employed. Luckily, I was wrong. it was a very cute family movie (with some adult humor - after all, it is Adam Sandler).
Basically, two single-parent families end up going on a vacation that belonged to some friends, but it means them sharing the room and activities. The mother of two boys, played by Drew Barrymore, and the father of three girls, played by Adam Sandler, had recently gone out on a terrible blind date and spend the time hating each other. At first, anyways. The treat is for blended families - families made from one or two second marriages. The point of the entire African retreat is to help the families learn to become one.
My biggest hesitation: Bella Thorne. Who's casting idea was that? A Family / Disney Channel star in a big screen movie? I was afraid, especially having seen her acting skill for myself (something I have always regretted). I will admit, however, that she really was not that bad. I may have found the character a little more believable or lovable had she been played by someone else, but I liked it.
The message about love and family was really good. My favourite parts had to be the dancing scene in the African village. It's been a while and the movie wasn't very complex so I don't know what else to say. It's good for a laugh, but I don't know if it is worth watching again.
