We're the Millers
Hello world, I really am still alive. And I am ever so far behind on my blogs. But fear not, I will catch up if I have to write several posts a day for the next few weeks.
So on to today's topic: We're the Millers. I want to introduce this as a hilarious family movie, but let's face it, it's not appropriate for the whole family. However, the atmosphere really is a happy, family one.
So where do I begin? A dealer gets sucked into picking up a shipment of drugs from Mexico, and uses his neighbour the stripper, his other neighbour the teenaged boy, and a homeless girl to create a fake family and travels across the border in an RV under the illusion of being a family on vacation in order to throw off suspicion. In Mexico they get into some trouble as it turns out the man who sent them on their mission is trying to steal the drugs.
They have a terrible time trying to act like a family, but suddenly the bond just forms on it's own.
There is a long, frustrating and entertaining journey back to get the drugs delivered on time. Another vacationing family makes the entire situation far more awkward, but in the end there is a close family bond, and the Millers get their happy ending through revenge.
The best part of the movie: the Millers singing along to Waterfalls by TLC, and the boy even knows the rap.
Plus, there is an outtake where the cast and crew replaced Waterfalls with the theme from Friends just to get Jennifer Aniston. Priceless!
Jennifer Aniston was not the right choice for a stripper. I know a lot of men find her sexy (and I agree that she's pretty) but she can't do a sexy strip tease for all the money in the world. Unless she was supposed to look clumsy, stiff and not at all sexy or enthusiastic. The good acting! ;)
Anyways, the cast is awesome! This was a totally different role than I'm used to for Will Poulter, since I'm used to him in Narnia. Also loved Molly Quinn (or as she is credited, Molly C. Quinn) because I am a huge Castle fan. And of course, Jason Sudeikis and Emma Roberts were good as always.
I would definitely recommend this, given you are the proper age because there is a lot of mature content. Watch responsibly, and enjoy!
